Abstract
⺠An information theory approach was employed to obtain a complexity hierarchy for songs. ⺠The results are very promising to discriminate songs. ⺠The method is simple, robust and has a fast numerical implementation. ⺠More than ten thousand songs distributed into ten music genres were analyzed.
