Abstract
⺠We propose a neural network model with short-term and long-term synaptic plasticity. ⺠We examine the criticality of the model by various scaling tests. ⺠We find that short-term plasticity is responsible for attaining the criticality. ⺠The criticality attained by short-term plasticity is unsustainable to perturbation. ⺠Long-term metaplasticity allows the system to maintain criticality after perturbation.
