Visibility graph analysis on quarterly macroeconomic series of China based on complex network theory

► We convert four macroeconomic series into networks by the visibility graph approach. ► The inheritance of the visibility graph from time series was further explored. ► The topological properties of constructed networks are discussed. ► Policy changes, community structures and macroeconomic series dynamics are detected.
