Abstract
► Nonlinear diffusion-reaction equations are used to model the caries process. ► The system consists of one static and one mobile substance. ► These substances, initially separated, react chemically. ► Changes in the concentrations are calculated approximately using the perturbation method. ► We show that the experimental data are well described by the analytical solutions.
