Abstract
⺠69 minor and trace elements were measured in modern animal teeth from Idaho. ⺠At least 35 trace elements are now easily measurable by LA-ICP-MS. ⺠Traverses show strong zoning; spot analyses show unexpected trophic effects. ⺠Omnivore and carnivore compositions are likely affected by dust/dirt consumption. ⺠Hominid/human diet inferences may be strongly influenced by food preparation.
