Abstract
⺠FTIR detected a weak montgomeryite signal in soils. ⺠Montgomeryite formed from diagenesis of ash and caribou processing residues. ⺠Calcite and carbonate hydroxylapatite indicate hearths fuelled using wood and bone. ⺠Bone crystallinity confirms intense burning, supporting cold season occupations.
