Abstract
► Assessment of geoarchaeological methods for the identification of activity areas. ► Case study analysed floor deposits in a Viking Age house in Reykjavik, Iceland. ► Integrated pH, EC, magnetic susceptibility, LOI, ICP-AES and soil micromorphology. ► Multiple datasets allowed an assessment of factors affecting element distributions. ► Soil micromorphology had the greatest interpretive power when used on its own.
