Abstract
► We analyse the palaeodiet of a cemetery sample from the south coast of Papua New Guinea. ► We analyse the stable isotopes of bone collagen to understand protein food consumption. ► Animals utilising both C3 and C4 environments were consumed at Nebira. ► Wallabies likely constituted a large proportion of the meat consumed. ► No significant sexual differences in diet were observed at Nebira.
