Abstract
► Tianchi was a dominant volcanic glass source from the Late Paleolithic to the Iron Age. ► A long-distance and two-way transport of volcanic glass occurred in prehistory. ► The increased use of local sources is related to the new sources. ► The eruption of Laoheishan and Jingpohu in the Holocene provided new sources. ► Holocene eruptions affected the accessibility of old source and encouraged to use new sources.
