Abstract
⺠Isotopes from Central Texas burial data show increasing C3 plant use from 6900 to 700 years BP. ⺠Carbon isotopes in bone apatite from burials at the post-700 BP Coleman site show a significant shift to C4/CAM plants. ⺠Coleman protein sources show a dependence on C3 fauna (e.g., deer), with use of high nitrogen fauna (e.g., fish) by males. ⺠Potential subsistence diversity and complex patterns of mate exchange are suggested for Late Prehistoric hunter-gatherers.
