Abstract
⺠Postnatal depression in poor countries is a major public health problem. ⺠65% of research from sub-Saharan Africa on postnatal depression is from Nigeria and South Africa. ⺠Household- and community-level poverty influences on postnatal depression have been ignored. ⺠To understand PND in poor countries, research has to acknowledge neighbourhoods and communities.
