Abstract
⺠Private peer group settings (PPSs) may facilitate alcohol use in adolescents. ⺠Many Dutch adolescents have easy access to alcohol in these unlicensed PPSs. ⺠Adolescents visiting PPSs engage in hazardous alcohol use more frequently. ⺠Parental supervision on PPSs seems effective, but is often lacking. ⺠Dutch authorities have insufficient legal means to regulate these private settings.
