Abstract
⺠Migrants occupy different social fields encompassing both their origin and their destination. ⺠We draw upon Bourdieu's concept of habitus and social fields to conceptualize this phenomenon. ⺠Previous work has focused on economic migrants rather than on lifestyle migration. ⺠British pensioners reported transforming their habitus when accessing the healthcare system which they valued highly. ⺠British pensioners reported a 'healthier lifestyle' in Spain consequent on changing their practices.
