Abstract
⺠A dearth of research has explored the safety environment in exotic dance clubs. ⺠We conduct observations and in-depth interviews with strip club dancers and staff. ⺠Clubs' physical, social, and symbolic environments contribute to perceived safety. ⺠Perceived safety is tied to construction of sex work inside versus outside the club.
