Abstract
⺠We test whether neighborhood disorder and social capital are associated with C-Reactive Protein. ⺠High C-Reactive Protein (CRP) is a biomarker for inflammation and cardiovascular disease. ⺠Disorder is estimated to be positively associated with high CRP among Brazilian immigrants. ⺠Social capital is estimated to be negatively associated with high CRP among Brazilian immigrants. ⺠High CRP is also associated with being male (â), education (â), and unauthorized legal status (+)
