Abstract
⺠The availability of sufficient, predictable and long-term finance is essential for the eventual success of REDD+. ⺠Fast-start finance for REDD+ is slow in being disbursed, while long-term strategies for REDD+ remain missing. ⺠With stable demand and strong safeguards, carbon markets could facilitate investment into REDD+. ⺠Given the insecurities in REDD+ financing developing countries will have to develop financing strategies that rely on a mix of public and private funding sources.
