Abstract
⺠Community monitoring of natural resources can be as reliable as expert monitoring. ⺠Communities often already possess the skills required to monitor carbon under REDD+. ⺠Some additional capacity building and community support networks will be needed. ⺠Communities pre-engaged in resource management are strong candidates for REDD+ carbon monitoring.
