Abstract
⺠We study greenhouse gas impacts of replacing various fossil fuels with wood pellets. ⺠We undertake a sensitivity analysis to reveal the main factors impacting emissions. ⺠Replacing lignite in power plants reduce emissions by 298 kg CO2eq/GJ energy output. ⺠Criteria for the important carbon neutrality assumption are discussed. ⺠Including all or none CO2 emissions from biomass combustion are both simplifications.
