Abstract
⺠Compares climate change adaptation strategies in the water sector in the Netherlands, Australia and South Africa. ⺠A set of institutional design principles are proposed for the governance of adaptation to climate change. ⺠Proposed principles capture structural, agency and learning dimensions of the adaptation challenge. ⺠These principles support a “management as learning” approach to dealing with complexity and uncertainty in practice.
