Abstract
► We study how hurricanes introduce shocks in labor markets in affected localities. ► We use a panel of microdata in 32 metropolitan areas for 2000-2011. ► The impact is mostly positive for low-educated workers' wages and formal jobs. ► There is no clear pattern to be found based on intensity of hurricanes. ► The process of reconstruction post-shock may demand more low-educated workers.
