Abstract
⺠Precious corals fishery has a long history in the Northwest Pacific. ⺠Logbook data were analysed to explore the status of precious corals around Taiwan. ⺠Live colonies were less than 5% in the production. ⺠The abundance of dominant species apparently decreased in major fishing regions. ⺠Alternative management strategy (MPA) should be considered.
