Abstract
⺠The paper shows how climate change cartoons work as geopolitical communication. ⺠Visual climate change communication is frequently paradoxical. ⺠The empirical focus is an international cartoon competition called Earthworks. ⺠Cartoons can play a critical role in climate change communication. ⺠Further research into audience reception of climate change cartoons is recommended.
