Abstract
⺠We examine how the ED visits are associated with levels of rurality. ⺠We apply spatial models to South Carolina hospital discharge data. ⺠We find that increasing rurality is significantly associated with non-urgent ED use. ⺠The spatial autocorrelation and variance estimates support the use of spatial model.
