Abstract
⺠Older adults identified multiple risks: environment; physical health; and social. ⺠Risk had variable meanings for participants. ⺠Salient risks related to the risk itself and to the person experiencing the risk. ⺠Risk taking was participants' primary approach to risk and assumed different types.
