Abstract
⺠GpdQ is a highly promiscuous phosphoesterase and is useful as a bioremediator. ⺠The metal ion composition modulates the reaction mechanism. ⺠The catalytic efficiency of GpdQ is modest. ⺠Modest catalytic efficiency may be the basis for rapid functional adaptability.
