Abstract
⺠Trypanosoma cruzi galactonolactone oxidoreductase was refolded in reverse micelles. ⺠Refolded TcGAL is active with L-galactono-1,4-lactone and D-arabinono-1,4-lactone. ⺠TcGAL employs FAD as cofactor for the synthesis of vitamin C. ⺠TcGAL can use molecular oxygen as electron acceptor.
