Abstract
► Identification of carotenoids in extracts from byproduct of cashew apple processing. ► Among 11 carotenoids the main ones were auroxanthin and β-cryptoxanthin. ► Extract concentration by microfiltration led to epoxy-furanoxy rearrangement. ► Total carotenoid content of the concentrated extract reached 54 mg/kg. ► Carotenoid content of final product was 10 times higher than in cashew apple.
