Abstract
⺠The Guinea corn red leaves were rich in phenolic and flavonoids. ⺠Little amounts of chlorophyll a and b, lycopene and β-carotene detected. ⺠The major fatty acids were palmitic, linoleic, stearic and oleic acid. ⺠The natural antioxidant and essential fatty acids found can fight cardiovascular related diseases. ⺠Some of the solvents were not effective in extracting the compounds.
