Abstract
► The Guinea corn red leaves were rich in phenolic and flavonoids. ► Little amounts of chlorophyll a and b, lycopene and β-carotene detected. ► The major fatty acids were palmitic, linoleic, stearic and oleic acid. ► The natural antioxidant and essential fatty acids found can fight cardiovascular related diseases. ► Some of the solvents were not effective in extracting the compounds.
