Abstract
► A new approach for determination of low concentrations of the tartrazine dye in foodstuffs is presented. ► New carbon paste and coated silver wire electrodes for determination of tartrazine dye were designed. ► No potentiometric sensors were found for the determination of tartrazine dye. ► The limit of detection of the developed electrodes are 3.2 × 10−7 and 5.5 × 10−8 M. ► Electrodes showed accurate and reproducible detection of tartrazine in foodstuff products.
