Abstract
► Two new phenolic compounds and three known compounds were isolated from seeds of Perilla (Perilla frutescens L.). ► Their structures were determined by NMR and HPLC-MS experiments. ► Isolated compounds were tested for their inhibition against α-glucosidase and aldose reductase. ► Luteolin inhibited α-glucosidase and aldose reductase with IC50s of 45.5 and 0.6 μM, respectively.
