Abstract
► Characterise naringin and neohesperidin in four tissues of Huyou fruit. ► Simultaneous purification of naringin and neohesperidin from Huyou albedo. ► Naringin or neohesperidin treatment increased consumption of glucose in HepG2 cells. ► Both naringin and neohesperidin can increase phosphorylation of AMPK. ► Naringin or neohesperidin from Huyou may act as potential hypoglycaemic agents.
