Abstract
⺠Single oral dose of potassium bromate induced nephrotoxicity in rats. ⺠Brush border membrane enzymes were inhibited by 50-60%. ⺠Bromate induced oxidative stress in renal cortex and medulla. ⺠The activities of carbohydrate metabolic enzymes were altered. ⺠Effect of bromate was reversible; it was maximum at 48 h and then recovers.
