Abstract
► Psidium cattleianum is in several ways superior to Psidium guajava fruits. ► P. cattleianum may possibly be classified as an antioxidant dietary fibre. ► A compound isolated from P. cattleianum showed moderate anti-inflammatory activity. ► P. cattleianum has much potential for commercialisation via value-added products. ► This research could initiate commercialisation of this exotic, health-beneficial fruit.
