Abstract
► Here we develop a sample pretreatment procedure for the selective PLs extraction. ► The combination of tributylamine and CHCA was used as extraction solvent. ► The selective enrichment of phospholipids from EVOO and HO oil samples was achieved. ► The extracts were analyzed by MALDI-TOF-MS using the ionic liquid TBA-CHCA as matrix. ► The adulteration of EVOO with HO was still detectable at a 1% contamination level.
