Abstract
► β-Carotene, lutein & zeaxanthin were the major carotenoids of glabrous canaryseed. ► Canaryseed flour had relatively higher levels of carotenoids than wholemeal and bran. ► High β-carotene levels distinguished glabrous canaryseeds from other cereal crops.
