Abstract
⺠Dietary cluster bean produced hypolipidemic effects in high-cholesterol fed rats. ⺠Decrease in serum cholesterol was additive with dietary cluster bean and garlic. ⺠Elevated hepatic cholesterol and triglycerides were countered by these additively. ⺠Biliary secretion of bile acids was increased by cluster bean and garlic. ⺠Thus, garlic potentiates beneficial effect of cluster bean on tissue lipid profile.
