Abstract
⺠Fermentation of 12 fibres by pig and human inocula were compared. ⺠Fibre fermentation kinetics is influenced by its sugar and linkage composition. ⺠Faecal inocula from pig and from human fermented various fibres differently. ⺠Monitoring of fibre degradation during fermentation may show how the fibre is utilised.
