Abstract
► Antioxidant activity of PG accounts for effects against oxidative stress observed. ► PG saponins have potent oxidant-scavenging capacities. ► Saponin glycosides showed comparable scavenging capacity for peroxynitrite. ► Capacities differ according to the aglycones and sugar residues numbers. ► PG saponins suggests for inflammatory diseases and chemical-induced liver injuries.
