Abstract
► Fifteen low-molecular-weight phenolic compounds were identified. ► Some of the compounds are never reported in bayberry leaves before. ► The compounds identified include phenolic acid, flavan-3-ols, and flavonols. ► Flavan-3-ols and flavonol glycoside are abundant. ► Immature leaves of two cultivars record the highest level of total phenolics.
