Abstract
► Anthocyanin types and total content vary among different rice cultivars. ► The antioxidant capacity of coloured rice is mainly found in the seed capsule. ► Coloured rice cultivars show stronger antioxidant activities than white rice. ► Antioxidant capacity is mainly due to the other phenolic compound instead of anthocyanin content.
