Abstract
⺠A simple and reliable HPLC-DAD method for the determination of phenolic acids was developed. ⺠An optimised SPE was applied for the isolation of free phenolic acids from cereal samples. ⺠Bound phenolic acids were extracted using alkaline hydrolysis. ⺠Method validation was performed by means of linearity, intra-day accuracy, inter-day precision and sensitivity. ⺠The method was applied in durum and bread wheat, barley, oat, rice, rye, corn and triticale.
