Abstract
⺠Anticholinesterase activity of Satureja thymbra was studied for the first time. ⺠Thyme demonstrated significant antioxidant and anticholinesterase activities. ⺠Both activities were performed on thymol, carvacrole, p-cymene and γ-terpinene. ⺠All the work done on the plant so far has been highlighted. ⺠How γ-terpinene scavenging oxygen was discussed with its scavenging mechanism.
