Abstract
► Schisandra chinensis (SC) reduced the expression of C/EBPs and PPARγ in 3T3-L1. ► SC inhibited the phosphorylation of Akt and GSK3β. ► SC blocked adipocyte differentiation and adipogenesis in 3T3-L1 cells. ► SC reduced lipid content and body fatness, and body weight gain in HFD-rats.
