Abstract
► New amine derivatives of Monascus pigment were made by fermentation. ► Their anti-obesity effects were analysed at cellular and animal levels. ► The amounts of fatty cells and transcriptional factors during cell differentiation were reduced. ► The weight gain, epididymal adipose tissue size, and cholesterol content of mice were decreased. ► The effects were photographically confirmed with micro CT images of mice.
