► Bascillus cereus AR156 effectively inhibited Rhizopus rot caused by Rhizopus stolonifer in peaches. ► DPPH radical-scavenging activity was significantly improved by B. cereus AR156. ► B. cereus AR156 induced disease resistance through priming of defense responses.
