Abstract
⺠Wistar rats were fed a high-fructose diet (HFD) and orally administered vescalagin. ⺠The effects of vescalagin on hypotriglyceridemia and hypoglycemia were evaluated. ⺠Fasting blood glucose, triglyceride decreased in HFD rats administered vescalagin. ⺠High-density-lipoprotein-cholesterol increased in HFD rats treated with vescalagin. ⺠Vescalagin has therapeutic value against diabetic progression.
