Abstract
⺠Z-2-(β-d-Glucopyranosyloxy)-3-phenylpropenoic acid (PPAG) was isolated and identified. ⺠PPAG was not present in all Aspalathus linearis plant material. ⺠PPAG in water has a slightly bitter to astringent taste. ⺠Detection threshold for PPAG in water is 0.4 mg/l.
