Abstract
⺠The flavonoids, quercetin, isoquercitrin, hyperin, and cacticin were isolated from V. koreanum, A. senticosus, and A. apiacea, respectively, by repeated column chromatography. ⺠The inhibitory effects of flavonoids against the formation of advanced glycation endproducts (AGEs) using in vitro model systems were detected. ⺠Isoquercitrin and hyperin showed a strong inhibitory activity against the formation of AGEs. Therefore, isoquercitrin and hyperin may be promising agents to treat glycation-associated diseases.
