Abstract
► We analysed the effects of 13 tropical fruits on nitric oxide. ► Nitric oxide inhibitors are known to decrease tumour growth. ► The fruits inhibited nitric oxide-induced proliferation of MCF-7. ► The fruits also had high polyphenol and flavonoid content. ► Phytochemicals in fruits scavenge nitric oxide and inhibit MCF-7 cell proliferation.
