Abstract
⺠We analysed the effects of 13 tropical fruits on nitric oxide. ⺠Nitric oxide inhibitors are known to decrease tumour growth. ⺠The fruits inhibited nitric oxide-induced proliferation of MCF-7. ⺠The fruits also had high polyphenol and flavonoid content. ⺠Phytochemicals in fruits scavenge nitric oxide and inhibit MCF-7 cell proliferation.
