Abstract
⺠Phenolic-rich extracts from edible seaweeds inhibit colon cancer proliferation at low doses. ⺠Similar extracts from Ascophyllum inhibit α-amylase and α-glucosidase at micromolar doses. ⺠The inhibitory agents are identified as phlorotannins by fractionation and mass spectral properties
